Yes, yes you are...
haha no, but seriously I'm all for the wagon variant.

With enough money, you probably could graft a Sorento's roof onto an Optima.
Bonus points if you could base it off of the rare manual Optima such as this one.

I actually had no clue this existed, i thought the man in the dealer asking if we wanted a manual or a slushbox was actually insane, guess not.

That coupe looks really good. Since they share platforms with Hyundai, they should make a Genesis coupe one.

I'm pretty sure they only offered it for the 2011 model year.

May be that in the States, but i looked it up and there were several manual Optimas for sale, that were newer then 2011.

I just checked out the third one, and ran a Car Proof. That thing has had nearly 10,000 in accident damage.

No, not at all, the Optima is a very handsome car and lends itself well to coupe and wagon versions. Its just too bad American consumers only buy sedans and SUVs.

BTW, That was my first time using car proof. I find it weird that Carfax or Autocheck never report how much damage was caused from an accident.

I think here in Canada an Optima wagon would be slightly more feasable, as troves of Golf SportWagens roam around here, and also quite a few Audi and Volvo wagons, there's a bit of a void left out at the bottom end of the market. As for the Coupe, i think that would be a bit of an oddity, the price segment if they actually made it would probably right in FRS-BRZ territory, and that would be a bit awkward for a FWD midsize sedan with two doors chopped off.

Canada is a bit more European in tastes, and if they only sell there, they wouldn't have to bother with FMVSS/NHTSA. Shame they never made a wagon, the Mazda 6 and Ford Mondeo both have them.

Don't they already offer a wagon in Europe? (Or maybe I am thinking Hyundai Sonata..) It does make a nice looking wagon.

You're thinking Sonata, known in Europe as the i40.

I've never seen an Optima sedan in Europe
edit:.. although they do supposedly offer them here. I learned something new today. Where I live you can only buy them as a hybrid or as a diesel, the latter with a manual as standard.
